Product certification is the process of demonstrating that a product meets applicable regulatory requirements and technical standards before it can be placed on the market. For electronic devices, certification typically involves testing and evaluation of technical documentation.
Certification requirements depend on product type, applicable directives or regulations and the target market. In many cases, manufacturers can demonstrate compliance through internal production control and testing. However, certain product categories require assessment by an independent Notified Body.
In the European union, a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) is required to mark product with CE marking and legally place the product on market. It is important to note that certification is not mandatory for all electronic products.
LEITC is an independent testing laboratory. While we provide testing and technical evaluation services, we do not provide certification.
Our role is to support manufacturers by performing the required technical measurements and helping them to prepare the documentation necessary for compliance evaluation by third party Notified Body.
